It's no secret that babies require a lot of stuff for a successful outing, so a good diaper bag is one of the most important purchases a parent-to-be can make. Based on personal testing and research, the Skip Hop Duo Signature is the best diaper bag for most parents, with a reasonable price tag, loads of pockets, several stylish patterns, and easy-to-wipe fabric that can take a beating.
Unfortunately, if you are a stomach sleeper, you aren’t going to be for long while pregnant. Back sleepers also may feel uncomfortable the further along they are, and may turn to their side naturally to better provide support to their added weight. Even side sleepers may feel the added weight before long and will be looking for ways to better support the stress their body feels through the night.
Maternity clothing is generally worn only during the second and third trimesters, and possibly for several weeks or months after the birth of the baby while a woman regains her pre-pregnancy size. If a woman expects to be pregnant only once or twice, buying maternity clothing that will be worn only for about six months, can be considered expensive.[4] Women who cannot afford or don't want to spend large amounts of money on maternity clothing may choose to just wear either larger, looser clothing or buy secondhand maternity clothes via yard sales and also consignment clothes stores. Also, some products, such as button extenders or Ingrid & Isabel's Bellaband wrap, are intended to work with the woman's non-maternity clothing, to reduce the need for specialized clothing.[4]
Babymoov has created a great pillow for alleviating head and neck pain. This bow-shaped design also works very well placed between your knees while sleeping or under your ankles when putting your legs up. Filled with micro-beads, it has a firmer consistency than some of the other pillows tested, which we really liked, and moulds itself to fit your shape. Easy to transport, it makes a good travel pillow and a great partner to longer snake-like pillows when sleeping.
Full body pillows are typically 4 to 5 feet in length and can either be used with or without your regular pillow- depending on whether it’s a model that provides flexibility for you to use under your head. These are typically straight in nature or provide some slight curve for better comfort. They usually have a pillowcase that either slips or sips over the pillow itself and is made of polyester with foam bead fill for body contouring.
You are probably not going to spend an entire night sleeping on the Cozy Bump Maternity Pillow, as doing so would be something of a balancing act and would require zero position adjustment to boot. But for the pregnant woman looking for temporary relief of lower back pain or who just wants to enjoy the feeling of resting face down for a little while, this unique pregnancy pillow is a great purchase.
Some mums-to-be may find that under-the-bump styles work best for the second trimester and then move on to over-the-bump options as they get bigger. You might also find that a belly band can help any under-the-bump pairs stay where they should if you are finding your crotch heading for your knees. The best way to see what works for you is to try on a range of styles and see how you get on.

This compact wedge pillow from Boppy supports your bump as you sleep, but helps in other ways too; women have been known to place it against their backs for lumbar support as they sit at a desk, or rest their knees on it as they lie on a couch. Its small size makes it easy to carry around the house, and the low price means you could have one at home and one at work.
While many pregnancy pillows give their support through firmness of material, this one does so thanks to a generous amount of soft polyethylene fill. That means it's also a genuinely comfortable pillow for the head and neck, making it suitable as the only pillow a pregnant woman uses while resting. It was also a slight improvement on the pillow fort approach we initially relied on for my wife.
As with many pillows, personal comfort is a major factor to consider, especially due to the ever-changing nature of pregnancy progression. Choosing from the many different shapes and styles can be a difficult decision, which is why we have provided more detail to each of the above choices with examples of personal trial runs. In some cases, you may find mixing and matching pillows, or using certain ones during different stages of pregnancy may help with your overall sleep comfort.
Since your rest is crucial to not only your own health but to the baby, picking the sleep aids that can help you rest more comfortably is an important step to consider. There are many pregnancy pillow styles available for you to choose from, but due to how different each and everybody truly is, you should take the time to research which you feel would be best for you.

We love this well-priced pillow that’s designed to support you when you sleep on your side. It’s a similar shape to the JoJo Mama Bébé maternity pillow in that it snakes around to give both back, bump and knee support. It’s a great depth and density, which works well to keep you upright, though it doesn’t offer any lower leg support and taller testers found they still needed another pillow between their knees. The entire pillow and case are machine washable, which is very practical if you choose to use it as a feeding support too.
The Queen Rose U Shaped Pillow is the key to a good night’s sleep, whether you are in your first or last trimester. The pillow is extremely to take care, plus it comes with a zippered pillowcase to keep the pillow cleaner. The cotton material will wick moisture away from your body, so you can sleep in peace without be disturbed by your overactive hormones.
Behold, Remedy’s full-body U-shaped pregnancy pillow surrounds you completely, front and back. Use it to sleep in any position as your aches and pains shift during pregnancy. Made of 100 percent polyester fill, it’s received 4.5 star reviews for its softness and pliability, though some reviewers wish it were a foot longer to accommodate taller women.

What makes for the “best” nursing bras? Simple, Nguyen says: “If it fits, if it’s comfortable, if it’s easy to nurse in and you like the style.” No matter what you decide are the best nursing bras for you, Brown suggests picking up two nursing bras for daily wear (so you’ll always have one on hand when the other is in the wash) and one to sleep in. Keep in mind, Brown adds, “It's not unusual to change bra sizes within the first few weeks of breastfeeding”—so, if you’re shopping before baby arrives, consider buying one or two sizes larger than usual, so you have one ready to wear after birth.
It may be the priciest pillow we tested, but the creators of the Bbhugme spared no expense when it came to research or high tech design – and it shows. Developed by three female Norwegian chiropractors, their aim was to create a product that would help prevent back or pelvic pain during pregnancy, and neck and shoulder strain when nursing. It uses natural, antibacterial ESP pebbles (a little like a bean-bag) to mould around your body and avoid overheating. Incredibly light and cool, we really like how adaptable this pillow is. It’s a good size and easy to shape and adjust the firmness to your preference by tightening or loosening the outer cover.
The full-length pillow is generally a better option, but somewhat more expensive initially. This type of pillow can be straight or curved. Nevertheless, it will be designed to support the most important parts of your body, including your back, belly, and head. Choosing a full-body pillow is generally best, but you’ll first want to make sure you have enough room for it!
This pillow is designed with one thing in mind: nighttime pregnancy support. This shapeable, total body pillow was created to allow for added belly support, as well as added comfort for head, neck, hip, and back positioning. The unique shape and construction allow for some slight shaping, which boasts a full 85-inch length to take advantage of to lay upon or wrap yourself within through the night.

While women were integrated into the U.S. military in 1948, they were automatically discharged if they became pregnant. However, in the late 1970s it was decided that in order to keep women in an all-volunteer armed forces the military needed to change its policy regarding pregnancy. Following complaints that pregnant women dressed in civilian clothing undermined moral, between 1978 and 1980 the armed forces began to issue military maternity outfits. Writing about her experience working on the Armed Forces History Collections at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, museum expert Bethanee Bemis wrote (in 2011):
Believe it or not, there are many different types of pregnancy pillows. The most common will wrap around the entire body, but there a few others as well. Wedge pillows are another great option. These pillows are far more compact, so they will not consume so much room on your bed. Unfortunately, the triangular or round wedge pillow will not be able to support your entire body. Therefore, you’ll still need a pillow for your head. The steepness of the wedge pillow can differ from one manufacturer to the next. Therefore, these pillows are commonly hit or miss.
I wish I had had a pillow like this when I was pregnant but ordered it even though I'm not. It's great for side or back sleeping and keeps me from rolling over in my sleep. You can bundle it up and watch tv on the couch, fold it up and read in bed, amazing. It's a little troublesome making the bed but I don't care - now my daughter wants one so we are ordering another!
Several of our mums-to-be swore by these affordable skinnies from Asos. They come in a range of washes – black, as well a few different blue hues – and in under-the-bump and over-the-bump options, as well as in a bigger-than-average size range (6-20). Tall or shorter ladies love the fact that they are also available in longer-leg and petite sizes.
Pregnancy clothes don't have to consist of your hubby's oversized T-shirts and baggy sweatpants. From supportive halter neck tankini swimsuits to super-cute polka-dotted wrap tops, you can find stylish maternity clothes online that are cut to fit throughout pregnancy and nursing, making them a long-lasting, value-conscious choice. Stay trendy yet comfy in the office with a floral printed tunic and supportive leggings, or wow your partner during date night in a sleek wrap dress.
I bought this for lumbar support while side sleeping and I could not be happier. I found it to be every bit as fluffy as the picture. I did expect it to be firmer (As some of the negative reviews said it was too hard - which was actually why I got it) but it still does the job just fine. It's particularly good because it means I can switch sides without having to adjust anything (I had previously slept with a heavy blanket rolled up against my back). This has also alleviated my shoulder pain that was occurring as my shoulders get full support too, not only from behind but because the pillows height is just perfect for me and my shoulders don't roll in like they used to. I am finally sleeping pain-free. You just can not put a price on that.

We were impressed with London-based Seraphine’s comfy jeans. This slim-fit pair are a good compromise if you’re not a skinny jeans fan. We found that unlike many, these stayed up without unladylike tugging and have a button and fly beneath the concealed over-the-bump band, so if your top creeps up they look pleasingly like an ordinary pair of jeans. We just wished they came in more than one leg length.

Wedges may not look like much, but their small size can pack a supportive punch. Although they don’t take up much room in your bed, they can be used in a variety of ways to support your back, stomach, and even your lower back while sitting. They also are great to take along for travel. Usually, they are made of firm foam that gives in to pressure but also provides the support you need without breaking down through the night.
You may have a baby now, but you still need a little time to yourself. A baby bouncer can be a real lifesaver when you need a break. In our experience, the Fisher-Price My Little Snugabunny Deluxe Bouncer is the best bouncer for providing a safe, comfy, reasonably priced place for your baby to stay contained, entertained, and — if you're lucky — drift off to dreamland.
So, which trousers will work for you? Maternity jeans come in a range of styles. There are under-the-bump and over-the-bump options, or those with stretchy panels designed to expand with your impending arrival. The under-the-bump pairs should fit comfortably below your belly with a soft elasticated waistband. The over-the-bump styles come with an integrated stretchy band that, as the name suggests, fits over your tummy and helps keep you feeling together.
During the later weeks of a pregnancy, many women report pain in their lower backs, their hips, their knees, and at just about every other joint in the body. For these long-suffering expectant mothers, a body-sized maternity pillow can help align the legs, pelvis, back, and shoulders, and can prop up the belly to reduce strain on the spine and the muscles of the abdomen. Other expectant moms, however, simply need some extra support underneath that growing baby. For them, the Hiccapop Pregnancy Pillow Wedge is the perfect tool.

A. While wearing the right nursing bra is no guarantee against mastitis, there are some things to avoid that could lead to its development. Underwires are notorious for causing clogged milk ducts, especially under the arm, as they put pressure on ducts and prevent milk from coming out. Once a duct gets clogged, it can become infected and lead to mastitis. Too much compression can also have the same effect.

During periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding, women will grow even further in the bust and band, making it important for the plus size nursing bra to fulfil not only the support but also unprecedented levels of comfort & function. Cake Lingerie uses a number of engineering techniques in these bras to ensure they meet these key requirements. Graduated wider straps, wider and longer hook and eyes, stabilising mid layer fabrics, 4 piece cup construction, wider and stronger elastics, the use of power mesh are some of the many fabrication related techniques that are implemented.
