Isabella Oliver is another London-based label designing for women during and after pregnancy, and although on the pricier side of maternity clothes, these are worth it for our money. They fit below the bump and the waistband was the only under-the-bump one our tester tried that gave enough support without needing an additional bump band. The relaxed style makes for a refreshing alternative to all the skinny jeans out there.

Side sleepers may find that they are well accommodated until later in their pregnancy when the weight of the baby begins to pull downwards and create a strain on their back. They also may find that they are unable to place their legs in the same position without feeling discomfort. Using a pillow that allows for total belly support, back support to lean upon if needed, and even in between leg support is often preferred when this begins to occur.
Hip pain, heartburn, having to wake up every few hours to pee—getting a full eight hours of shuteye is challenging when you're pregnant, especially in the third trimester. "During pregnancy, most women will experience some insomnia," says Fahimeh Sasan, DO, an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. "Sometimes it's difficult finding a comfortable position, and sometimes it's for no reason at all."
Those nasty allergies can intensify your pregnancy frustrations. One of the best things about the KHOMO Maternity Pillow is the fact that it is stuffed with hypoallergenic materials. The hypoallergenic cotton offers several benefits. First and foremost, the material will help to diminish your allergy symptoms. Simultaneously, the filling delivers the optimum amount of cuddliness.

Hi! I am 16 weeks pregnant and mostly sleep on my back and I know that needs to stop. I like to continue to use my own pillow for my head and neck support, so I am only interested in a pregnancy pillow for back/hip/tummy support. The picture at the very top seems to have the pillow I would be interested in buying, but your article doesn’t mention what pillow that is, unless I am missing something. Thank you!

Women in Eastern cultures, however, have maintained a much greater sense of modesty when it comes to maternity wear. In both the Islamic and Asian cultures, maternity wear is much less fitted, hemlines are longer and necklines higher. Modern Islamic maternity wear uses fabrics with brighter colours and bolder prints.[11] Aside from cultural modesty, Chinese women have sometimes sought to hide their second pregnancy in less shapely clothes because Chinese policy has dictated that they can only have one child. In Chinese and Japanese cultures, there is a fear of radiation from devices such as computers and mobile phones, especially during pregnancy. Even though there is no evidence to support this (according to WHO[12]), Asian maternity wear is often manufactured from “anti-radiation” fabrics.[13]
With nearly 1,000 reviews posted on Amazon, the Hiccapop Pregnancy Pillow Wedge enjoys a shining 4.7-star rating. One mother at the 30-week mark who used the pillow for much of her second trimester said it "provides the perfect support and" added that she loved "the compact size." Another appreciated that there was both a "firmer support" and a "super soft" side.
Maternity clothes around the world have been undergoing significant changes. In both Eastern and Western cultures, there is greater demand for fashionable maternity clothes. In Western cultures the influence of celebrity culture.+[6][7] means that pregnant women in the public eye are taking the lead in maternity fashion.[8] One such example is Demi Moore's 1991 Vanity Fair cover, which was one of the first instances of a magazine cover depicting an expectant mother.[9] As a result, pregnant women are no longer trying to hide or disguise their "baby bumps", instead choosing to wear garments which closely fit their new shape, often emphasising the bust and abdominal area. Fashion bloggers have caught on to the shift in perception and began to regularly discuss new styles and fabrics designed with the pregnant form in mind.[10] High-tech fabrics such as elastane are the material of choice for maternity wear in Western cultures as they allow garments to be form-fitting while allowing the abdominal area to expand as necessary.
This compact wedge pillow from Boppy supports your bump as you sleep, but helps in other ways too; women have been known to place it against their backs for lumbar support as they sit at a desk, or rest their knees on it as they lie on a couch. Its small size makes it easy to carry around the house, and the low price means you could have one at home and one at work.
It is recommended to sleep on your left side, as it increases the amount of blood flow and nutrients to the placenta. You also can better help relieve back pain by sleeping on your side, a common complaint of many pregnant women. Later in pregnancy, many women experience heartburn, making any position that has your head more leveled with the rest of your body uncomfortable. This is when raising your upper body slightly can help, and sleeping on your back, with your upper body elevated may provide the relief you need.
Designed for both pregnancy and breast feeding, this full-length pillow has been created in collaboration with a physiotherapist in order to “fill in the gaps” from head to toe when sleeping on your side, providing support for stomach, spine, legs, and ankles too. A rather technical-looking pillow, it comes in three separate pieces that can be attached, removed or reconfigured with Velcro strips depending on your preference. We love the flexibility this allows, making it possible for mums to use their own pillow for their head and choosing whether or not to have central body support. We found it a very natural, intuitive shape that offered light support without feeling bulky or causing us to overheat.
We were impressed with London-based Seraphine’s comfy jeans. This slim-fit pair are a good compromise if you’re not a skinny jeans fan. We found that unlike many, these stayed up without unladylike tugging and have a button and fly beneath the concealed over-the-bump band, so if your top creeps up they look pleasingly like an ordinary pair of jeans. We just wished they came in more than one leg length.

And by small space, I don’t mean your growing bump! The Hiccapop Pregnancy Pillow Wedge for Maternity is not only super comfortable memory foam support for your bump, back, hips, and knees, but it’s also quite a dainty little wedge if you’re worried about a pregnancy pillow taking up a lot of space in your apartment or house. Plus, this pillow’s two-sided design allows for softer or firmer support as your body changes and grows. Washable cover: yes. Filling: memory foam.
I love my body pillow. Purchased because I had thoracic outlet syndrome likely due to sleeping on my stomach. This helps me sleep on my side more comfortably. I actually sleep with it upside down so I can use my own head pillow (the top of the U is not comfortable for putting my head on due to the seams). It gets a bit warm but it could be worse. Happy with my purchase.

Unfortunately, if you are a stomach sleeper, you aren’t going to be for long while pregnant. Back sleepers also may feel uncomfortable the further along they are, and may turn to their side naturally to better provide support to their added weight. Even side sleepers may feel the added weight before long and will be looking for ways to better support the stress their body feels through the night.

Plus, the pillow ensures the user’s spine remains in perfect alignment throughout the night.
Pregnant pillows can be rather expensive, especially for a young couple that is preparing for the birth of a baby. With this said, when you invest in the Queen Rose Pillow, you will be ensured to get your money’s worth. The pillow offers a wide array of uses, including body support during pregnancy, nursing, reading, and watching TV and for pain relief after birth. The pillow is perfect for an array of occasions and you do not even need to be pregnant to enjoy its unlimited benefits.
“Five months pregnant and sleep was beginning to become difficult. My only regret is that I waited until I was pregnant to get one of these. It’s so comfortable, I wish I had one a long time ago. I was concerned about the fluffiness of the pillow; I saw several others where they were really flat. This pillow is definitely plush, and fluffy. I’m not used to sleeping in one spot; I usually wake up horizontal, even with my husband in the bed. He said it was a nice break for him ‘cause it kept me on my side of the bed. I’ll have to get used to that. Other than that, it made sleeping easier and very comfortable. We have a king-size bed and it doesn’t take up as much space as I thought it would. Husband said it didn’t bother him … keep in mind, it kept me in one spot, so he’s happy.”
• Support. Breasts filled with milk are fuller (and heavier), so you’ll want more support than you had before baby. A supportive nursing bra also prevents sagging breasts after baby graduates from breastfeeding. “The band under the bust should be snug,” says New York City stylist Samantha Brown, but make sure the straps don’t cut into your shoulders. “An ill-fitting bra can impact a woman’s posture, and lead to strain and tension headaches,” Brown says.
When you can no longer do up the button on your favourite skinny jeans, it might be time to invest in a maternity pair designed to accommodate your growing bump. We know these are trousers you might only wear for four to five months, but there are plenty of affordable options out there – from the high street as well as pregnancy specialists.  Take it from us: swapping a digging-in waistband and trousers two sizes too big that you have to hoick up every few seconds, for something actually made to fit a growing little human is pretty liberating.

Next time I’ll buy something like this dress from Isabella Oliver…in black of course. Its jersey composition means it will be comfy and I love the elegant square neckline too. For daywear I’ve fallen in love with this crepe and jersey panel dress from Isabella Oliver and Seraphine. Hell I’d even wear it now I like it that much! It’s edgy whilst retaining the comfort factor too but you’ll have to move fast as some sizes have already sold out.Luckily, today, a future mother does not have to visit retail stores, but instead she could use some online ones, like ours. That being said, you should know that this pillow is so resilient that it can be washed and dried at extremely high temperatures and it won’t loose its shape or comfort features. In addition to this, The Moonlight Slumber Total Body Pillow is constructed of polyester polymer, which has a high temperature resistance. This basically means that the pillow will stay cool all throughout the night, as you rest soundly.

While the Leachco Back n Belly Chic Contoured Body Pillow is primarily marketed as a maternity pillow, in fact, many of the people who use are not only not pregnant women, but are in fact not even women at all. This large, generously stuffed pillow can help reduce the aches and pains associated with scoliosis, sciatica, chronic back pain, and more. It can also simply prop up a side sleeper who is looking for more comfort, no defined medical condition necessary.
As essential weight loss equipment, waist training products are very straightforward and easy to use. Hold both ends of your waist trainer and make sure that the darker side or the black side is on your back. If possible, wear a thin spandex shirt on your skin and then wrap the waist trainer or slimming belt around the stomach area and fasten via the hooks, zipper, or velcro.
It may be the priciest pillow we tested, but the creators of the Bbhugme spared no expense when it came to research or high tech design – and it shows. Developed by three female Norwegian chiropractors, their aim was to create a product that would help prevent back or pelvic pain during pregnancy, and neck and shoulder strain when nursing. It uses natural, antibacterial ESP pebbles (a little like a bean-bag) to mould around your body and avoid overheating. Incredibly light and cool, we really like how adaptable this pillow is. It’s a good size and easy to shape and adjust the firmness to your preference by tightening or loosening the outer cover.

I wish I had had a pillow like this when I was pregnant but ordered it even though I'm not. It's great for side or back sleeping and keeps me from rolling over in my sleep. You can bundle it up and watch tv on the couch, fold it up and read in bed, amazing. It's a little troublesome making the bed but I don't care - now my daughter wants one so we are ordering another!
Now that you’re pregnant, you deserve the best pregnancy pillow. Once I got out of the first trimester, I noticed my back seriously starting to ache when I’d lay down for long amounts of time. And (I hate to break it to you) that feeling only gets worse as your pregnancy goes on. As in, there was no pillow in my house that could make everything from my back and my tummy to my neck and my knees all feel comfortable at the same time. Which is why I could practically hear angels singing when I finally got a seriously awesome pregnancy pillow. A pillow that curved around me, snuggled me, and helped me sleep and stay supported throughout the day. In fact, when my pregnancy was over, I was kind of sad when my husband suggested it was time to pass the pillow on to a newly pregnant friend. (Damn, I loved that pillow!).

You also can better help relieve back pain by sleeping on your side, a common complaint of many pregnant women. Our fitted tops are stretchy without stretching out, so they fit comfortably over your curves while maintaining their shape. It's important to be comfortable when you're expecting, which is why we design these styles with incredible attention to detail and fit. Whether you're going to work, hanging out at home, going out, or running errands, there are styles that will keep you feeling your best from A.M. to P.M.
We like the fact that this under-the-bump pair comes in a 30 leg, so are ideal for the vertically challenged. They are super-comfy and a flattering fit. The wide waist band is comfortable, however we did find there was some slipping down, so we’d suggest the added support of a maternity bump band (New Look does a good set of three). These also come in black. The cut is a bit more generous than the standard Leighs, so bear that in mind before you buy.

Many women find themselves sleeping with four or five different pillows during the pregnancy stages. There is nothing wrong with this, but over time these headrest just aren’t enough. They lose their shape, get extremely hot, or have to be readjusted constantly. This is something that you will never experience with the Leachco Snoogle Total Body Pillow. This pad not only wraps around the entire body, but it was designed to contour to the body. The bolster basically works is the same manner that a memory foam mattress works.
Memory foam pregnancy pillows take the shape of your body as it presses against it. Once your weight is lifted of the pillow, the memory foam regains its original shape. Pregnancy pillows containing memory foam filling are generally quite firm. Since memory foam can cause heat to build up, some manufacturers shred it prior to using it in pregnancy pillow filling. The shredded memory foam still allows air to circulate inside it, helping reducing that hot feeling.

We love this well-priced pillow that’s designed to support you when you sleep on your side. It’s a similar shape to the JoJo Mama Bébé maternity pillow in that it snakes around to give both back, bump and knee support. It’s a great depth and density, which works well to keep you upright, though it doesn’t offer any lower leg support and taller testers found they still needed another pillow between their knees. The entire pillow and case are machine washable, which is very practical if you choose to use it as a feeding support too.

The original nursing bra is a timeless classic for pregnant women and breastfeeding moms. This go-to style, made from soft, breathable cotton, provides around-the-clock comfort. Web Linens manufacturers several great maternity pillows. However, many women will agree that the U-shape pillow is the best. This is the case, because the U-Shape offers additional benefits and comfort to the user. It can be used to combat nasal congestion and even heartburn. On top of that, the pillow itself is built to last. The product is covered by a money back guarantee, so you can rest assured knowing you’ll get your money’s worth!
Body pillows come in a wide variety of sizes. This is good, but it may also force you to experiment to find the one that suits you the best. If you decide to choose a wedge pillow, the size probably won’t matter nearly as much. However, size is paramount when purchasing a full-body pillow. It is vital to make sure you choose a pillow that perfect matches your height. You should be able to snuggle with the pillow comfortably and all parts of your body should be supported.
A lot of pregnant women will sleep with several pillows to achieve the comfort level that is needed to rest comfortably. Even with two or three cradles, it can be difficult to adequately support the entire body. This is where the body pillow for pregnancy enters the picture. These pillows can perfectly support the entire body. They’ll support the back, belly, shoulders, legs, and everything in between. This can help to remove the extra stress placed on the back and joints, due to the baby weight. In return, the extra support ensures extra comfort and a more restful night’s sleep.

As with many pillows, personal comfort is a major factor to consider, especially due to the ever-changing nature of pregnancy progression. Choosing from the many different shapes and styles can be a difficult decision, which is why we have provided more detail to each of the above choices with examples of personal trial runs. In some cases, you may find mixing and matching pillows, or using certain ones during different stages of pregnancy may help with your overall sleep comfort.
Most pregnant women will sleep alongside their significant other. While it might seem like it, you should remember that you’re not the only one dealing with the stresses of the pregnancy. Your comfort should receive more emphasis, but you’ll also want to be courteous. Therefore, you should consider your partner. Make sure you choose a pillow that will not consume the entire width of the bed. In other words, do not make your partner sleep on the couch, unless he deserves it.
A. While wearing the right nursing bra is no guarantee against mastitis, there are some things to avoid that could lead to its development. Underwires are notorious for causing clogged milk ducts, especially under the arm, as they put pressure on ducts and prevent milk from coming out. Once a duct gets clogged, it can become infected and lead to mastitis. Too much compression can also have the same effect.

Users say this U-shaped pregnancy pillow helps alleviate back pain, even calling it a chiropractic pregnancy pillow. Wrote one pregnant mama, who heard about the maternity pillow from her chiropractor, “It’s helped immensely with round ligament and pelvic pain. Plus it allows me to easily flip from one side to the other all night without having to readjust my pillows.”
The filling can occasionally be as varied as the pillow shapes itself. The most used filling is the polyfills that allow shaping, airflow, and easy washing; but also popular with many expecting mothers are memory foam or microbeads due to how well they conform to the shape of your body. Usually, the type of pillow determines the type of filling since each may be used in a different way.

The drawback to that generous size is that the pillow takes up much more than half the width of a standard queen-sized bed, as queen mattresses are usually 60-inches wide. Thus you'll need a very patient partner if you share a queen-sized bed. If you have a king-sized mattress, it will still take up about half of the bed because king mattresses are usually 76-inches wide.

Waist Trainers are perfect add-ons to your daily life and / or your workout session. Nature has designed the stomach to store fat along with surplus water within the body. Exercise can reduce fat store in the skin cells up to some extent, but the excess water does not go anywhere with training. It is where the waist trainers come in handy. You can fasten these corsets and belts around your waist and enable your body to sweat off surplus water from the stomach region. When the body gets rid of the surplus water, you lose the water weight thus contributing towards weight loss. The compression from the waist trainer will also heat up your core significantly, enhancing your body's own fat burning ability!

Sound like a familiar scene: You’re exhausted and can’t wait to crawl into bed, but when you do, your ever-growing bump is right there, creating a wedge between you and a good night’s sleep. While you might have dismissed a pregnancy pillow as an unnecessary purchase (after all, you have plenty of pillows already), a great pregnancy pillow is actually engineered to ease the discomfort of pregnancy and cradle you off to dreamland. Most support your belly, of course, but others target hip or back pain, because let’s face it: carrying a baby for nine months takes its toll on more than just your midsection.

Bravado Designs Body Silk Seamless Yoga Maternity/Nursing Bra is wire-free and has wide straps and a generous under-bust band. (The plus size nursing bras can accommodate up to a 44DDD cup size.) Whether you’re easing back into exercise with gentle yoga or jumping right into your pre-pregnancy running routine, this nursing bra provides support that feels just right.
Thank you!
Finding the right balance between size and comfort can be very difficult. However, the Puredown U-Shaped can solve this problem for you. This pillow is versatile, appropriately sized, and reasonably priced. Plus, the pillow is available in two cool colors, blue and beige. The pillow measures in at 32 by 56 inches. While it is bigger than conventional pillows, it is smaller than many other pregnancy pillows. This makes the pillow easy to move and even easier to store.
Not all pregnancy pillows are made the same, their shapes and construction are as different from one another as your body type might be from another person. You may find that different pillows work well in each stage of your pregnancy, or what works for one person may not work for another. The important thing to remember is that you need to consider what each type is used for to best determine your comfort and which best pregnancy body pillow is right for you.

Pregnancy clothing specialists Mamalicious have jeans in lots of cuts, our pick of the collection are these slim fit, over-the-bump ones that nicely straddle the line between smart and casual. We found the bump band supportive, they stay where they should, and the fact that they come in waist measurements rather than standard dress sizes means it’s easier to find a pair that don’t gape at the back.
The MVP of pregnancy pillows, this full-body contour pillow is one of the best-rated on Amazon, with an impressive 1,000 five-star reviews.
If you’re pregnant with twins, the Leachco PreggoPedic Contoured Maternity Body Pillow may help give you that added bit of support. While many women will prefer a larger body pillow, others will agree that something smaller is more reasonable. This is why the Leachco Snoogle Mini is truly the perfect size for many pregnant women. While the pillow is very compact, it still offers a sufficient amount of support. Plus, it can be used in various positions to better target certain parts of the body. Plus, the pillow’s size makes it far more convenient than its competitors. The pillow is more portable and can easily be stored in a closet when it is not needed.

The picture at the very top seems to have the pillow I would be interested in buying, but your article doesn’t mention what pillow that is, unless I am missing something. Thank you!

This pillow actually features a shoulder support design, which contours to the shoulders and provides more comfort than you can imagine.
